8) Changes in Diet

Just as getting a massage or getting exercise can act as a pattern interrupt, changing your diet can also act as a pattern interrupt. In fact, if you are currently regularly consuming anything to which your body has even a mild allergic reaction, changing your diet to eliminate the thing or things which you are allergic to could make a big difference. Studies have shown that bruxism occurs three times as frequently in children who have allergies as in children who do not have allergies.

Some people have found that eliminating one single food from their diet was enough to completely eliminate their bruxism. If you have an intuition that diet change might make a difference in your teeth grinding and clenching, by all means experiment and find out. It won’t cost you anything, and you have nothing to lose.
